Dr Lindfors will be lecturing about different modalities of orofacial pain such as TMD, Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS), intra oral neuropathic pain conditions, referred pain and Persistant idiopathic facial pain (PIFP).
He will hold special emphasis on the role of the dentist in the multidisciplinary management of these pain conditions.

Dr Erik Lindfors is a specialist in temporomandibular disorders from 2007.  Dr Lindfors has a broad scientific collaboration with Swedish and European researchers in the field of stomatognathic physiology, with a special emphasis on stabilisation appliances and therapeutic jaw exercises in treating temporomandibular disorders.

His PhD thesis (2018) concerns jaw exercises in the treatment of masticatory myofascial pain (”Jaw exercises in the treatment of masticatory myofascial pain -efficacy, patient´s views and dentists´experiences ” Karolinska institutet 2018.)

Dr Lindfors is the Chief dentist of the Department of Stomatognathic Physiology at the public dental health service in Uppsala, Sweden.

As the Director of postgraduate studies he is responsible for the dental specialist training in region Uppsala and he is also the Head of research in Uppsala public dental health service.
